THE HUB

ABOUT

The Access Arts Hub is a consortium of individuals and organisations with a shared agenda to make arts more accessible and appealing for persons with disabilities. The HUB’s origin stems from initial training provided Kirsty Hoyle of Include Arts organised by the Esplanade, SRT supported by the British Council in February 2018. The HUB wants to develop better Access to the Arts in Singapore by working with a diverse membership base, to make informed changes to support all communities to be nourished and entertained by the Arts.

THE HUB

OBJECTIVES

  • To make venues more accessible and disability friendly, supporting and advising best practise and developing training opportunities.
  • To encourage content producers to plan for accessible performances & events with audio description (for the blind) sign language interpretation (for the deaf) and ‘relaxed’ performances (for Neurodiverse).
  • To reach out to PWD communities to support them to engage with the arts. We wish to understand the challenges facing attendance and participation and action change.
